The Dragon Balls
A set of legendary magical orbs of mysterious origin that the young Fury had heard about several times by this point. He had scoured the archives on the Gau-la-Furia for any mention of the artefacts and came up empty handed, neither the Fury of the past, nor the Saiyans spotty records revealed much about the items beyond the vaguest details. Beyond the fact they where apparently used to restore the planet Vegeta and the Saiyan race, the boy could find precious little else. Even the sources he could scrounge from Earth told little about them outside of legends that could be myth or reality as easily as either, with everything Liek had seen both possibilities had equal plausibility.
But a breakthrough had been found on Liek’s Quest to find information; one of the humans who had agreed to take refuge on the Furia was a former employee of Capsule Corporation and had (illegally) absconded with terabytes of information from the company. Included in all that information had been something that had been flagged by his search that was different from anything else; the designs for a device that supposedly detected the energy Dragon Balls gave off.
The human, Flash, had also proven to be very adept scientist and mechanist in addition to showing serious interest in the Fury way of life. Between his obvious merit, interest and bringing the data Liek had decided to induct him officially as a Fury and assigned him as the Chief Science Officer of the Gau-la-Furia, a position the man took to with glee and has since spent all his time researching Fury technology in hopes of recreating it for the new species that made up the new Fury culture.
But, before starting that research, Flash had lent Liek his expertise to build the boy the Dragon Radar so he could seek out the legendary orbs.
Armed with the new device the boy had set out to test the device.
Hovering high in the air with his power suppressed as low as he could get it to go, the youth examined the device in his hand, holding the button on top to activate it. It didn’t take long for it to boot, the hybrid architecture made by combining Fury Orgone crystal structures with Human programming was a potent combo in such a device, allowing the simple binary programming to load at thousands of times faster then the fastest human SSD could manage.
Clicking the button on top allowed the youth to cycle through several different ranges, though none being far enough to cover an entire continent. Not that Liek saw any flaw in that, it was a tiny handheld device built to scan for the specific energy of magical balls, he didn’t expect to be able to see all seven, let alone the world, all at once on such a small device. Maybe if they installed the function on the Furia’s bridge the ships superior sensor hardware could do that. But that was something for another time.
For now, he had a signal. After taking a moment to get his bearings the boy took off in flight towards where the dot had appeared on the radar.
